- There’s no better way to stand out in a TRO Pro than with a bright shade of blue.
- This might just be one of the finest-looking colors that Toyota currently offers.
- Toyota has offers several bright colors for its TRD Pro models in the past.
Toyota’s 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia TRD Pro models stand out in their respective markets with juiced-up looks and impressive off-road credentials. To make the quartet even more impressive for 2026 Toyota has introduced a brand new color known as Wave Maker.

The bright shade of blue is the work of Toyota’s CALTY design studio and, according to CALTY Ann Arbor general manager Benjamin Jimenez, the team was “inspired by unexplored areas of adventure, including extreme territory and even beyond earth.” While that sounds like it was whipped up by Toyota’s PR department, there’s no denying this new paint job will turn heads both on the street and on the trail.

Toyota’s TRD Pro models have been offered in a slew of special colors over the years, but few have been quite as flamboyant as Wave Maker. Among the brighter colors offered in recent times are Voodoo Blue, Inferno, Solar Orange, and Lime Rush. The Japanese brand does offer plenty of more subtle colors too, including Army Green and Mudbath, a surprisingly appealing shade of brown.
Dealers across the US will start to receive 2026 TRD Pro models in the fall. There are no other major updates expected for 2026, but none of Toyota’s current TRD Pro models really need any upgrades at this stage in their lives anyway.
It was only a couple of years ago that the latest Tacoma TRD Pro hit the market. One of the most intriguing innovations it brought to the market is Toyota’s IsoDynamic Performance seats that have shock absorbers, designed to minimize the body and head movements of drivers and passengers.
As a refresher, different TRD Pro models use different powertrains. For example, the 4Runner and Tundra TRD Pro rock a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and an electric motor to deliver 326 hp and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm), while the larger Tundra and Sequoia TRD Pro have a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid with 437 hp and 583 lb-ft.
Regardless of which TRD Pro model you’re driving, and if you’re cruising along a beach or climbing across boulders in the middle of the country, the new blue color will allow any owner to stand out.
