Some of those trucks ended up stored at a run-down mall in Farmington Hills outside of Detroit in Michigan. The lot is home to a now-closed Bed, Bath and Beyond, an also-shuttered Torrid, and a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant that\u2019s still open, and has plenty of space for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/electric-vehicles\/\">EV<\/a>s. But she admitted to reporters that the enforcement process \u201ctakes time.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic\"><\/div>\n<p>The report notes Tesla recently opened a brand new showroom close to the Hunter\u2019s Square shopping center in West Bloomfield, which could be the source of the idled Cybertrucks. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crainsdetroit.com\/real-estate-insider\/teslas-stored-farmington-hills-shopping-center-draws-scrutiny\">Crain\u2019s Detroit Business<\/a> reached out to both the registered owner of that site and the landlord of Hunter\u2019s Square, which is due to get a major overhaul, but neither responded.<\/p>\n<p>        <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Cybertruck-May282511.jpg\" data-type=\"inarticle-image-block\"> <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\">\n<p>                    <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazy \" src=\"\" alt=\" Tesla Dumping Unsold Cybertrucks At Mall Parking Lot And The City\u2019s Fed Up\" width=\"2450\" height=\"1377\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Cybertruck-May282511-1024x576.jpg\" data-type=\"inarticle-image\" \/><figcaption>Credit: Instagram\/@cheapyd<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>        <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Tesla CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/elon-musk\/\">Elon Musk<\/a> once bragged of having 1 million reservations for the Cybertruck, but the much-delayed EV has failed to live up to sales expectations since its official debut in late 2023. Only 40,000 were sold last year, well short of the 250,000 Tesla predicted, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alanohnsman\/2025\/04\/03\/elons-edsel-tesla-cybertruck-is-the-auto-industrys-biggest-flop-in-decades\/\">Forbes<\/a>.
