The Warrior M817 by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/dongfeng\/\">Dongfeng<\/a> is a new 4\u00d74 is a new plug-in hybrid 4\u00d74 with upwards of 700 hp, which makes most rivals seem a little underdone. It is part of the brand\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/mhero\/\">M-Hero series<\/a> which, last year, was launched with the even more dramatic M-Hero 917.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2024\/04\/you-cant-get-a-gmc-hummer-in-europe-but-you-can-buy-chinas-dongfeng-mhero-1\/\">You Can\u2019t Get A GMC Hummer In Europe But You Can Buy China\u2019s Dongfeng MHero 1<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Shown in silver (base trim) and black (flagship spec), the new Warrior M817 has a similarly bold design to the 917, but isn\u2019t quite as crazy. The front end on the base model includes an open grille with M-Hero branding, while the flagship model has a faux gloss-black grille. Edgy surfaces and sharp corners dominate the bumper, hood, and the LED taillights.<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic\"><\/div>\n<p>The Warrior M817 also arrives with flared wheel arches and heaps of ground clearance, although a figure is not yet known. Side steps and two different roof rail designs are also visible on both models. Found at the rear are sharp taillights just like those of the M-Hero 917, a spare wheel carrier on the base model and a large storage box on the flagship.<\/p>\n<p>        <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Dongfeng-M-Hero-Warrior-M817-9.png\" data-type=\"inarticle-image-block\"> <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\">\n<p>                    <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazy \" src=\"\" alt=\" Dongfeng\u2019s Throws New 700 HP Warrior In Chinese SUV War\" width=\"1268\" height=\"713\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Dongfeng-M-Hero-Warrior-M817-9-1024x576.png\" data-type=\"inarticle-image\" \/><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>        <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/carnewschina.com\/2025\/05\/26\/dongfeng-warriors-700-hp-off-roader-m817-unveiled\/\">Car News China<\/a>, the Warrior measures 5,100 mm (200.7 inches) long, 1,998 mm (78.6 inches) wide, and stands eight 1,899 mm (74.7 inches) tall with the standard suspension or 1,919 mm (75.7 inches) with the available air suspension. It also has a 3,005 mm (118.3-inch) wheelbase as well as 30-degree approach and departure angles.<\/p>\n<p>The report claims the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/phev\/\">plug-in hybrid<\/a> powertrain consists of a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors, combining to produce 700 hp.
