The blaze forced the airport to close for hours, triggering a massive clean-up and repair effort that will likely stretch on for weeks. It grew so intense that there was a partial collapse of the second and third floors, before another collapse occurred roughly 30 minutes later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/story\/news\/fire\/2025\/05\/17\/jacksonville-airport-fire-damage-photos\/83692960007\/\">Jacksonville<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic\"><\/div>\n<p>The garage provides hourly parking facilities and is positioned directly across from the main airport terminal, offering access to 1,200 spaces. Officials have established a collapse zone,\u201d it said. \u201cAt this time only authorized personnel are able to access the garage. All other individuals are prohibited from entering this area to ensure their safety. Crews are working to establish safe areas of the garage where cars may be removed. We believe certain areas will be deemed safe and cleared later this week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There have been no reports of injuries, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2023\/10\/fire-rips-through-british-airport-parking-garage-triggered-by-diesel-range-rover\/\">the closure of the garage<\/a> has forced travelers to park in other sites across the airport.
